Limited Warranty Policy

MERUZY Architectural Systems ("MERUZY") provides this non-transferable Limited Warranty to the original buyer (homeowner, commercial property developer, or verified trade partner) covering factory manufacturing defects under standard residential and commercial operational conditions.

1. Warranty Coverage Terms & Duration

  • Structural Aluminum Extrusions — 10-Year Limited Warranty:

Covers structural integrity against cracking, structural splitting, or material failure. Covers powder-coated and anodized surface finishes against abnormal peeling, blistering, or chalking under normal atmospheric conditions.

  • Insulated Glass Units (IGU) — 10-Year Limited Warranty:

Covers seal failure resulting in permanent internal fogging, moisture condensation, or dust accumulation within the sealed airspace of double or triple-pane insulated glass units.

  • Hardware & Mechanical Systems — 3-Year Limited Warranty:

Covers multi-point locking mechanisms, handles, hinges, stainless steel rollers, tandem trucks, and heavy-duty pivot mechanisms against functional mechanical failure.

  • Stairs & Glass Railing Systems — 5-Year Limited Warranty:

Covers structural steel/aluminum stringers, spigots, standoff hardware, and glass adapter pins against mechanical structural failure.

2. Glass Quality Standards & Visual Industry Tolerances (ASTM Standards)

Architectural glass supplied by MERUZY complies with international flat glass and heat-treated glass standards (ASTM C1036 / ASTM C1048 / SGCC / IGCC).

The 10-Foot Visual Inspection Standard: Minor surface scratches, pinpoint inclusions, seeds, or optical distortions inherent to heat-strengthening and tempering that are not visible when viewed from a distance of 10 feet (3 meters) in a perpendicular orientation under normal daylight conditions do not constitute manufacturing defects and are not covered under warranty.

3. Express Warranty Limitations & Exclusions

This Limited Warranty covers factory manufacturing defects only and does NOT apply to:

  1. Improper Installation & Field Framing Errors: Defects, water infiltration, air leakage, or operational binding resulting from unlevel/out-of-plumb rough openings, improper structural flashing, inadequate waterproofing membranes, structural sagging, or unapproved installation methods by local contractors.
  2. Post-Delivery Glass Breakage: Glass cracking or spontaneous breakage occurring after delivery resulting from job-site impact, building structural settling, seismic activity, thermal shock, or improper handling during uncrating.
  3. Normal Wear & Tear: Minor finish dulling from sun/UV exposure, natural compression or aging of rubber weatherstripping/EPDM gaskets, or cosmetic scratches occurring after delivery.
  4. Field Modifications: Any frame, glass, or hardware component that has been cut, altered, re-drilled, field-painted, or repaired without prior written authorization from MERUZY.
  5. Environmental & Force Majeure Events: Damage caused by severe weather (tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes), fires, floods, or airborne chemical pollutants.

4. Limitation of Warranty Remedy

Under this warranty, MERUZY’s sole and exclusive obligation is limited to repairing or furnishing replacement components for defective items. MERUZY is not contractually responsible for local labor, scaffolding rental, crane hire, glass removal, or re-installation expenses associated with replacing warranty components.
