Shipping policy
At MERUZY Architectural Systems ("MERUZY"), we manage the complete international shipping journey—from our manufacturing facilities straight to your residential or commercial job site across the United States and Canada. All custom window, door, stair, and railing orders are executed under Incoterms 2020 DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms, meaning MERUZY handles ocean freight, ISF filing, customs clearance, import duties, harbor maintenance fees, and local inland trucking with zero hidden charges at destination.
1. Master Project Timeline & Phase Breakdown
Because every architectural system is custom-engineered to approved specifications, total project lead times are organized into the following controlled operational phases:
• Phase 1: Engineering & Shop Drawing Approval (Pre-Production)
Includes CAD detail drafting, structural review, and configuration verification. Production scheduling commences once the buyer signs final shop drawings and remits the required deposit.
• Phase 2: Precision Manufacturing & QC Crating (4–5 Weeks / 25–35 Business Days)
Covers aluminum extrusion, thermal break assembly, precision CNC machining, glazing, multi-point hardware installation, pre-shipment quality inspection, and heavy-duty fumigation-free export crating.
• Phase 3: Ocean Freight & Customs Clearance (3–4 Weeks)
Covers container loading, ocean transit, US/Canadian port processing, import customs clearance, and duty payment under confirmed DDP terms.
• Phase 4: Final Inland Transit & Job-Site Delivery (3–7 Business Days / approx. 1 Week)
Dedicated inland freight coordination directly to your confirmed job-site address.
Total Estimated Delivery Window: 8 to 10 Weeks from final drawing sign-off and deposit receipt to curbside job-site delivery.
Force Majeure Disclaimer: Lead times are provided in good faith. MERUZY is not contractually liable for shipping delays resulting from port labor strikes, ocean carrier congestion, severe maritime weather, customs physical examinations (CBP/FDA holds), or events beyond our reasonable control.
2. Protective Export Packaging Standards
All glass units, structural frames, and hardware are packaged inside custom-built, fully enclosed, IPPC-compliant fumigation-free plywood crates. Crates feature internal structural corner guards, high-density EPE foam cushioning, moisture-barrier wrapping, and heavy-duty exterior steel strapping engineered to withstand ocean transit and multi-stage handling.
3. Curbside Delivery Protocol & Unloading Responsibilities
- Curbside Delivery Scope: Freight delivery is completed via commercial freight trucks (equipped with hydraulic liftgates where crate dimensions allow). The carrier will deliver crates to the curbside or accessible driveway entrance of the specified delivery address.
- Liftgate Size Limits: Hydraulic liftgates can only handle crates under 96 inches (2400mm) in length and under 2,000 lbs in weight. For oversized crates, liftgate deployment is physically impossible.
-
Buyer Offloading Responsibility (Mandatory):
The buyer, general contractor, or property owner is solely responsible for offloading wooden crates from the freight truck upon arrival.
Required Equipment & Labor: On the scheduled delivery date, the buyer MUST have a forklift, telehandler, crane, or a dedicated unloading crew (4 to 6 workers depending on crate weight and size) present on-site. Truck drivers are independent contractors and are not permitted, equipped, or insured to assist with offloading or moving crates inside your property.
4. Job-Site Access, Storage, Detention & Re-Consignment Fees
- Restricted Site Access Notice: You must inform MERUZY prior to factory dispatch if your delivery location has physical access restrictions (e.g., steep unpaved roads, narrow alleys, low-hanging tree branches/utility wires, or gated restrictions). Special shuttle truck fees required by the local carrier shall be charged directly to the buyer.
- Truck Detention Charges: Local freight carriers allow a standard 1-hour window for unloading. If unloading exceeds 1 hour due to site unreadiness, truck detention fees assessed by the carrier (typically $100–$150 per additional hour) shall be billed to the buyer.
- Failed Delivery & Storage Charges: The freight carrier will contact the buyer 24–48 hours in advance to schedule a delivery appointment. If the buyer is unreachable or unprepared to receive the load within 2 business days of terminal arrival, daily storage fees and re-delivery charges ($350–$800 per attempt) assessed by the logistics company shall be payable by the buyer.
- Re-Consignment (Address Change in Transit): Changing the delivery destination after the container has left our factory is subject to carrier re-consignment fees, payable by the buyer.
